We know and respect Mark Perry, and we do not question his reporting on his contacts and conversations with current and former U.S. intelligence officials. However, in order to assess U.S. involvement in the ongoing covert war against the Islamic Republic, it is important to put Mark’s story in a wider context

Jupiter making closest approach in nearly 50 years

Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and the largest planet within the Solar System.[13] It is a gas giant with a mass slightly less than one-thousandth of the Sun but is two and a half times the mass of all the other planets in our Solar System combined. Jupiter is classified as a gas giant along with Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Together, these four planets are sometimes referred to as the Jovian planets. The planet was known by astronomers of ancient times and was associated with the mythology and religious beliefs of many cultures. The Romans named the planet after the Roman god Jupiter.[14] When viewed from Earth, Jupiter can reach an apparent magnitude of −2.94, making it on average the third-brightest object in the night sky after the Moon and Venus. (Mars can briefly match Jupiter's brightness at certain points in its orbit.)Jupiter is primarily composed of hydrogen with a quarter of its mass being helium; it may also have a rocky core of heavier elements. Because of its rapid rotation, Jupiter's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it possesses a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator). The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries. A prominent result is the Great Red Spot, a giant storm that is known to have existed since at least the 17th century when it was first seen by telescope. Surrounding the planet is a faint planetary ring system and a powerful magnetosphere. There are also at least 63 moons, including the four large moons called the Galilean moons that were first discovered by Galileo Galilei in 1610. Ganymede, the largest of these moons, has a diameter greater than that of the planet Mercury.

There's been a barrage of bad news lately from Afghanistan. So I was glad for the chance to discuss "what should be done?" with Greg Mortenson, the author of the best-seller "Three Cups of Tea," who has built more than 130 schools, mostly for girls, in Afghanistan and Pakistan. I've traveled with him to some of his schools in Pakistan, and he stopped off in Philadelphia between interviews in New York and Washington.

Universe could be football-shaped

The Universe could be shaped like a soccer ball, say mathematicians. The idea is prompted by data from NASA's Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) satellite. This sees back to when the Universe was about 380,000 years old, and reveals the all-pervading radiation left over from the Big Bang - the cosmic microwave background. There are fluctuations in this background, like waves in the sea. They are the legacy of the small lumps in the early Universe that gave rise to stars and galaxies. An infinite Universe would contain waves of all sizes. The WMAP did not see any very large waves. This points to space being finite - for the same reasons that you don't see breakers in your bathtub. This article also contains a video by Carl Sagan who talks about the geometry of the universe as well as two other links to articles explaining this article in more detail and offering an alternate theory about the shape of the universe.

In the brief history of the current century, we have been bombarded and overwhelmed by simultaneous 'revelations' around the world. A fortnight ago, we published a link published on July by WikiLeaks. The actual documents are yet to be studied, including research purposes. What is strange, other than the hasty judicial efforts by US authorities to prosecute the author of WikiLeaks and its refusal by Sweden; a political world figure like Fidel Castro, the Cuban hard timer who talked about Ben Laden as being bought by the US government for year, used WikiLeaks as reference. Bellow, you will read a statement made by him, in The Associated Press. We should be ready for even faster rates of political revelations in the coming months. We are determined to focus on it.
