I was born in Afghanistan to a non-literate Uzbek-speaking rural family in northeastern province of Badakhshan. After completing primary school in the village, I attended boarding schools in Kabul, the capital. During my freshman year at Kabul University, I was introduced to anthropology and wished to pursue it as a career. Luckily, in 1967 while junior at Kabul University, I was awarded an East-West Center scholarship by the University of Hawaii, Honolulu, to complete my BA in anthropology....
پروفيسور عبدالاحمد جاويد ، فرزند ميرزا عبدالصمد خان در 1 ـ 1 ـ 1927 در محله پايآن چوک کابل در گذر حاجی عزت الله خان طبيب معروف چشم به دنيا گشود. دوران شيرين کودکی را بيشتر در محله ريکاخانه ی کابل گذراند. از همين رو نيز بهترين خاطرات و علايق اش به اين محله بر ميگردد. دوران آموزش ابتدايی را در مکتب نمبر 2 و متوسطه و ليسه را درليسهً حبيبيه به پايان رسانيد. در سال 1943 وارد فاکولته ی ادبيات دانشگاه کابل گرديد و پس از پايان سال اول ، نخستين دانشجوی افغانی بود که به گرفتن بورسيه ای از دانشگاه تهران نايل آمد. در سال 1344 به تهران رفت و در دانشکده ی حقوق و علوم سياسی مشغول تحصيل گرديد.
Dr Ali Wardak Dr. Ali Wardak was born in Afghanistan and is a graduate of Kabul University in Law and Jurisprudence. He received his PhD degree in Criminology from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1995 where he also worked as a tutor of Criminology and Criminal Justice between 1992 - 1995, and as a research fellow between 1995 - 1996.
Professor Amin Saikal AM Amin Saikal is Director of the Centre for Arab and Islamic Studies (The Middle East Central Asia) and Professor of Political Science. Professor Saikal has specialised in the politics, history, political economy and international relations of the Middle East and Central Asia. He has been a Visiting Fellow at Princeton University, Cambridge University and the Institute of Development Studies (University of Sussex), as well as a Rockefeller Foundation Fellow in International Relations (1983-1988). He is a member of many national and international academic organisations.
Biography: Ashraf Ghani has had a distinguished global career in the academy, international institutions, and national government. He is a noted expert on effective state building, post-conflict reconstruction,and global governance. Currently Chancellor of Kabul University, he set the path for Afghanistan's recovery after September 11th as Afghanistan's celebrated finance minister between July 2002 and December 2004. After September 11th, he joined the UN as a Special Adviser and was a key architect of the Bonn Agreement, which was one of the few peace agreements to include defined benchmarks for citizen participation and enhanced state legitimacy.
